I recently learned that New York City is developing their own brand of condom! I say if any city deserves its own condom, then New York must be it. If you can get a hot dog on any street corner, then why not some safer sex supplies too.

The condoms will be designed with the subway in mind. Apparently we will be able to get G Train condoms and L Train condoms (hopefully the shoddy service of a train won’t affect people’s willingness to use the condom). The condoms will be part of the “Free Condom Initiative” which was introduced last year in an effort to help stop the spread of STIs and HIV. New York City has the highest rate of HIV in the country so this sounds like a good initiative. There are only going to be one million condoms made this way though, so get them while they’re available!
