I’ve been absent from the blog for a few weeks and I wish I had a better excuse! I went to Dinah Shore weekend in Palm Springs at the start of the month, got food poisoning upon my return to LA and finally caught up with work this week. Yes, I know, have some cheese with your whine.

For those of you outside of lesbian culture or who missed the last couple episodes in season one of The L Word, Dinah Shore weekend is one-part golf tournament, two-parts queer girl circuit party in Palm Springs, CA each spring. Think pool party, dance club, multi-hotel convention with big-name performers and beer-soaked bikinis.

My impression of “the Dinah” was really positive, although I’m probably 10 years too old to really appreciate it’s many fine attributes (ahem). The women were gorgeous, geographically and racially diverse, although with enough disposable income to afford $180/night hotel rooms and $160 VIP passes to events. Plus these ladies could drink!

I was at the Babeland table handing out vibrators pool-side, so technically I was working, not partying all weekend….

Phew! April 15th is almost upon us. I sent my checks in early this year but many of you may be spending tonight with receipts, a calculator, and those long and confusing forms. How do you know if you can claim an exemption? And what goes on line 45?
