Portland’s Strip Clubs
I was able to get out of town and down to Portland on Friday night, where I stopped into a couple of strip clubs. I’m an enthusiastic consumer of adult clubs in Portland for a couple of reasons:
- Unlike in Seattle, one can have a beer in a Portland club so you don’t get the creepy “I’m only here to watch the dancing girls” vibe.
- As a result of #1, there isn’t an astronomical cover charge.
- I think naked women are pretty.
A particular favorite is Mary’s Club located just a few blocks from our hotel on 10th. Unfortunately, there was a rude loud trio of guys sitting behind me that detracted from the experience. You could say “what do you expect in a strip club?” but that’s just it. In my sex postive, pro-sex worker approach, dancers and fellow patrons are respected while enjoying the show. We’re all titillated- that’s the point- and can be so without making anyone feel bad.

Hope you made it to Magic Garden and Union Jack’s, this single gal’s faves.

Naked women are indeed very pretty.
It’s a shame that communities all over America are trying to shut down strip clubs. Seriously, all over the country they are trying to shut them down. You have bible-thumpers on one side and feminists on the other, all of whom don’t want you or I looking at attractive women in their birthday suits. It’s a crying shame that consenting adults can’t do what they want to do behind closed doors. I don’t know what this American hangup with nudity is all about. Hell, in many other countries women can go topless freely at the beach–out in full public view.
