Happy International Women’s Day!
The doorman in the building where I work said Happy Women’s Day to me this morning. Turns out, I didn’t even know it was Women’s Day.. But it is. Along with Women’s Day it’s the Global Women’s Strike with women in over 60 countries participating. I could have been skipping work today - oh well!
Lastly, it’s also Blog Against Sexism Day. I will gladly participate in this by sharing a story that happened today to one of my coworkers as the doorman said Happy Women’s Day to her too.

In the elevator:
Man: “It’s International Women’s Day?”
My female coworker: “Yes it is”
Man: “Gosh, I feel so bad that I didn’t know that…. is there an International Men’s Day?”
My coworker: “Everyday is International Men’s Day”

I like the elevator exchange. I used to work for a cable channel called “Black Starz”..a black movie channel. People (white) would ask “Is there a White Starz?” and I would say yes it’s called “Starz” (Starz being the name of the main channel in the line up- get it?).
