Fancy Condoms

Vibrators that plug into iPods, remote controlled toys… fancy high tech toys are all the rage these days. Who knew that condoms, the classic stalwart of the safer-sex/sex toy community could get its own fancy makeover?

Two new condom related products are on the market. The first is like something I’ve never seen – it’s a condom applicator (thanks BoingBoing!). This easy to use object applies condoms in one quick step – just pull. No more messing around with condoms that won’t unroll or get caught. A Dutch designer has dubbed this the most beautiful object in South Africa. In a country where thousands of people die from AIDS every day – it might just be exactly that. In many parts of the word there is a resistance to condom use. Condoms are cheap, easy to use and protect against STIs, HIV and pregnancy – they’re the easiest solution to so many problems and hopefully this applicator will make it even easier to use them.
