An Audio Tour of Babeland

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

ohmybodIf you don’t live near one of our stores but want to hear what it’s like to be inside Babeland, check out this podcast from Planned Parenthood of Western Washington. They did a special episode on sex toys and of course they came straight to Babeland. Where else would you go but to the “creme de la creme” of sex toy stores.

One of our fantastic sex educators gives the hosts of the podcast a tour of some of Babeland’s best toys including the Rabbit Pearl, the Hitachi Magic Wand, the Blossom Sleeve and a toy very similar to the OhMyBod (pictured). The best part? – you get to hear the toys in action. She also includes great advice and stories from the Babeland stores.

The podcast then includes some great stories about sex toys from listeners as well as some great tips and information about sex toys.

A Heartbreaker in My Suitcase

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

miniheartbreakerI recently traveled to San Francisco to attend a conference (my first business trip!) and I knew I was going to have some lonely nights in my hotel room so right before I left I tossed the Mini Heartbreaker into my suitcase.

I’ve used this toy in all of its different capacities before but always when I had the luxury of picking out whatever toy I wanted from my drawer. On this trip, however, the Mini Heartbreaker had to perform to the fullest and it more than passed the test.

The silicone material made the Mini Heartbreaker easy to clean after travel the AAA batteries were easy to find at the nearest corner store. It was so quiet I could barely hear it. (not that anyone cares about making noise in hotel rooms, am I right, people in room 423?) With three vibrating speeds, I could set it to whatever mood I was in and it was great for both clitoral and G-spot stimulation. Who could ask for anything more?

The next time you find yourself heading away for business or pleasure, I would highly recommend this little gem – it doesn’t weigh down your suitcase and it makes your whole trip more fun.

(Check out other toys made by the same company)

What Do Women Want?

Monday, March 26th, 2007

ibodIf you think sex toy stores like Babeland are only for women, think again. I love helping male customers find just the right condom or butt plug for their girlfriend to stick in their ass. A lot of guys come in shopping for toys for their partners. What better gift could there be?

If it’s hard enough to figure out which color scarf you should buy someone, it can be even harder to pick out the right sex toy. Big, small, hard, soft, pink, black, fast, slow…. the list goes on and on.

To help all of the gift givers out there, Babeland has developed a fantastic guide to buying sex toys for women. I would recommend this guide for anyone who is looking to buy a toy, even if the toy is for yourself. All of the toys in the guide were made by women and have the qualities that women most want in a sex toy.

In addition to this guide, I would also keep in mind a couple of other key tips:

1. You might not get it right the first time: it’s hard to tell exactly what you’re going to like so don’t be disappointed if your first try doesn’t quite hit the spot. Think about what’s not working, then tell Babeland and we’ll help you find the qualities you or your partner are looking for.

2. Tastes change: Although we may find a toy that we want to hold close for the rest of our lives, this isn’t always the case. Bodies and sexual responses change and we might want a different toy a few years down the line. Additionally, we might want different toys at a given point during one sexual encounter. Something softer at the beginning and harder at the end, for example.

3. Speaking of diversity, I always love having a vibe that has multiple speeds. This lets you or your partner tune the intensity up or down, depending on what you need right that second.

So, with those three tips and this fantastic guide – you’re all set! Get to it!
