Support the REAL Act

Two weeks ago, Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Representatives Barbara Lee (D-CA) and Christopher Shays (R-CT) introduced the Responsible Education About Life (REAL) Act in the U.S. Senate and in the House of Representatives. This bill is a composite of several bills that would allow for $206 million for states to fund comprehensive sex education programs in schools that are science based and have proven to be effective. With Congress controlled by the Democrats and Wade Horn no longer in power, this just might happen! If you read this blog with any regularity, you already know how I feel about abstinence only sex ed and why I’m very excited about this legislation.

I love the sex education that I do at Babeland and I know that there’s no way kids will be learning about vibrators and dildos in school. But, if people can start walking through our doors already knowing basic facts about sexual pleasure instead of solely scare tactics, that will make our jobs easier and more fun!
