Toys in TV Land
I have a confession to make: I watch The L Word. Not only do I watch The L Word, but I watch it somewhat obsessively. Now that it’s out, you can admit that you watch it, too; and perhaps like myself, you have noticed the absence of sex toys over the years. Oh, there was that one instance some years back where a confident Alice and a rather skittish Dana purchased a harness and dildo; but the memory wanes as that too-brief vignette was replaced with episode after episode of hot tribadism, fingers, and mouths. That’s all fine and good, but what happened to the toys? Were Alice and Dana a mere flash in the pan? Would we ever enjoy the sight of leather and silicone again? The questions lingered until last night, when fashionable Jenny gifted her starlet lover with the Annie O harness and a sumptuous silicone dil. Not only were the new accoutrement presented in a playful and open manner, but savvy Jenny even remembered the lube. Needless to say, I’m pleased as punch to see high-quality toys making sexy scenes all the more steamy. Here’s hoping The L Word will continue with this exciting new trend in Sunday night television!

I too am a longtime fan and had been commenting recently not only on the absence of sex toys, but the overall ’softness’ of the sex this year. Made me wonder if something else was going on. But this episode, with the harness and dildo scene played out in such glorious detail, was fantastic. Unlike the Shane scene a couple years ago (where she fabulously fucks Roseanne Arquette w/ a dil and harness by the poll), this one was more than just a ‘glimpse’ of the harness strap on a butt. We got to see the lovely actress (who reminds me of an young Raquel Welch) pose in her sexy harness and then get busy on Jenny. It was great. Now I want to see a sexy vibrator scene!
