I ran across the mention of this discovery in the SF Chronicle (San Francisco&#8217;s daily newspaper), along with this quote from Paul Mellars, an archeologist from University of Cambridge, who says the figurine&#8217;s blatant sexuality &#8220;could be seen as bordering on the pornographic.&#8221; Even Nature magazine titled the piece &#8220;Prehistoric Pin-Up&#8221; and the Huffington Post called it &#8220;Prehistoric Porn&#8221;. Come on people, let&#8217;s embrace the fact that matriarchal societies existed for centuries and women&#8217;s bodies and the power of the sexuality were revered (and should be again)!All hail the sexy moms of old!
