A Romp for the Rump

Monday, July 21st, 2008

rompThere is a new toy in the store (and online), which my coworkers have been circling like sharks. Mind you, this doesn’t happen with every new arrival. Shark-like behavior is usually reserved for unique properties, impeccable design, and flawless aesthetics…

Not to mention the knowledge that it is going to feel really good.

Reminiscent of Hans Arp’s amorphous abstract sculptures, the Romp combines modern art sensibilities with erotic functionality. This avant-garde piece could take its place at the Musée National d’Art Moderne, but it is designed for far more pleasurable activities: inserting smoothly into the anus, its thoughtful curves and dips caress and cradle the prostate for decadent stimulation.

Entirely wearable, the Romp will stay put while you engage in other welcome coquetry (or even for a dressy night out on the town); and, as our clever friends at NobEssence remind us, the Romp isn’t just for your rump. Slide the toy into your pussy (handle facing the clit) and enjoy some stellar oral as your partner rocks the Romp with their chin.

Coated in phthalate-free, surgical grade Lubrosity™, each toy is silky smooth, splinter-free, and entirely non-porous. That makes clean up a snap, and sharing possibilities endless. Plus, you’ll feel orgasmically green knowing that each Romp is hand crafted from Cocobolo, Purpleheart, or Elanthai: the toys creators actually grow their own wood, or use more exotic woods purchased from growers who manage their forests sustainably and responsibly.

Curiosity piqued? Make sure to check out the Flip and Fling as well.

Green Toys on the Daily Bedpost

Monday, July 21st, 2008

The Daily Bedpost has another great video with Claire Cavanah from Babeland talking about green sex toys. What makes a toy green?

As Claire mentions, toys can be green for several reasons. They may be rechargeable or made out of a recyclable material. The basic move towards greener toys encourages using chemicals that are less harmful to the environment. Claire mentions some terriffic toys in this segment.

The Flip has gotten rave reviews and is a smooth and silky rippled toy. There’s a new wooden toy on the block as well – the Romp

The glass dildos are a favorite of mine. They’re firm and slick and absolutely gorgeous. At our sale this weekend I helped two customers purchase glass dildos – it was so much fun to talk to them about all of the reasons why I like the toys and to hear their amazement when they learned that each glass dildo is hand-made and each one is unique.

The Delight is on my list of toys to buy as soon as possible. I love the shape and its G-spotting potential. Plus, as Em & Lo mention, it’s made by Fun Factory – a fantastic company that makes really high quality toys.

Le Petit Ami looks deceptively simple but it’s a fantastic stainless steel vibrator – in fact, it’s the only stainless steel vibrator we have, and the only vibrator that you can boil. Truly amazing.

Ah, Naked lube. Since we got this lube in, we can barely keep it on the shelves. It’s a bit creamier than the Babelube and it’s all organic!!
