Babeland Gives Dan Savage Cake!

I’ve been reading/listening to Dan Savage give sex advice for many years now. During that time I’ve read a lot of other sex columns and Dan’s remains consistently the best around. Sex advice columns are one of those things that sound easy to do (I give people advice all the time!) but, given the lack of skill I’ve encountered, clearly requires a cunning combination of knowledge and wit.

Savage Love occasionally features Babeland for advice and Dan will mention Babeland if he’s recommending that someone purchase a particular toy. Knowing that Dan knows/respects Babeland makes me happy – not just because I want more people to know about Babeland but because it means that Babeland is accomplishing what it sets out to achieve – exploration and fun for everyone.

If you read this blog regularly, you probably already know that this month Babeland is celebrating its 15th anniversary. As part of that celebration, our Seattle location was hoping to have an event with Dan Savage. Sadly, the nationally syndicated columnist wasn’t returning our phone calls (he is really busy..). So, two of my intrepid colleagues bought him a cake, put their business card on it, and walked it over to his office.

He called back 10 minutes later and is going to do the event! Ah, the power of cake.
