Seattle’s 15th Anniversary Party

Whoa! Thanks Seattle for an amazing 15 year anniversary party! Yes, there was a line out the door but hopefully the sidewalk burlesque and Dan Savage delivering cupcakes to those waiting made it one of the best lines ever.

When Claire and I opened Babeland 15 years ago we were inspired but not sure how it would turn out. A vibrator had changed my life, and I wanted to turn other women on to the joys of toys. Turns out that a lot of folks of all genders love both toys and Babeland’s style of sex-positive retailing.

At the party Dan and I did a little Q& A but most of the entertainment was burlesque.  Many folks sported old school “Toys in Babeland” Tees, establishing their bona fides as long-time sex toy connoisseurs.

People told lots of Babeland stories, whether it was of awesome sex educators helping folks out, that orgasmic first vibrator, a strap-on that got the job done, or a class where future best friends met.

The vibe was sweet and lovely. Seattle is an amazing community and I’m so proud to be part of it.
