I have many things to be thankful for this year but as in years past, I’m still thankful for Babeland…

Or, the perils of buying sex toys from sketchy sites. A UK paper reported that LoveHoney, a sex toy retailer in Britain recently suffered a theft. Any sex toy theft is bad (our Seattle store was held up at gunpoint this month – thankfully no one was hurt) but these theives stole used sex toys.

Why were there used sex toys hanging around? LoveHoney has a sex toy recycling program called Rabbit Amnesty that allows sex toy users to bring their broken and used up toys back to be recycled (In the United States, your only option is to use an electronic recycling program). The thief stole several boxes of these toys.

Assuming that thieves steal things other than money in order to sell them to make money…this means that there are some very unfortunate people out there who might purchase a used sex toy. How can you make sure this doesn’t happen to you?

• Buy all of your toys from Babeland!
• Make sure they’re in some kind of packaging
• Never buy a sex toy on the street
