Wow. Just, wow. Never in a million years would I have expected Babeland to be mentioned positively in an article published in the New York Post, much less on the sports page!

How in the world would sex toys come up on the sports page, you ask? Well, Mark Sanchez, who is apparently a football player, is going to be coming to New York to play for the Jets (I’ll admit, I had to look that up) and the New York Post decided to give the 22 year old hunk some advice which included moving to SoHo, hanging out with David Cross and eating in Little Italy.

What perfect timing. Right in the middle of our sexy moms blog event archeologists reveal the discovery of the WORLD’S OLDEST reproduction of a human, excavated from a German cave. And she’s a woman. And she’s a voluptuous, round, big-bellied babe with enlarged genitalia. This 2-1/2″ tall  figurine, known as the Venus of Hohle Fels, is 35,000 years-old, and predates other Venus figurines by 5,000 years. Her existence is causing archeologists and art historians to re-examine the nature and meaning of Paleolithic Art to include sexual, fertile, fat-ass babes.

I welcome the theories that will emerge, but first we have to get past the sophomoric twittering and Victorian lens with which discoveries like these are viewed. I ran across the mention of this discovery in the SF Chronicle (San Francisco’s daily newspaper), along with this quote from Paul Mellars, an archeologist from University of Cambridge, who says the figurine’s blatant sexuality “could be seen as bordering on the pornographic.” Even Nature magazine titled the piece “Prehistoric Pin-Up” and the Huffington Post called it “Prehistoric Porn”. Come on people, let’s embrace the fact that matriarchal societies existed for centuries and women’s bodies and the power of the sexuality were revered (and should be again)!All hail the sexy moms of old!
