Ask Babeland: Why would I want to buy a glass toy?

Q: Why would I want to buy a glass toy?
A: When people first look at a glass toy, I can almost see the image they have in their head of the last time they broke a wine glass and watch them shudder as they imagine the glass dildo doing the same thing, but inside them.
Let me be the first to assure you that this is highly unlikely if not nearly impossible. The next time you are in a store with glass toys, pick one up and try to break it just by using your hands (not dropping it on the floor). You won’t be able to do it, so your vagina shouldn’t be able to either. Some glass toys are actually made out of pyrex, the same glass as those heavy duty mixing bowls we all love so much. In other words, they’re made to last.
So, now that we’ve set that fear aside, why do people buy them? Lots of reasons. First, they’re absolutely gorgeous. If looks are important to you or you’re looking for a gift that will really wow someone, it doesn’t get any prettier than a glass toy. Because of their smooth surfaces, glass toys are nice and slick and with a little lube, they provide amazing, friction-free sensations. Glass toys are also just about as firm as you can get. This does mean that you need to use them gently, however, the firmness can provide a lot of amazing sensations (especially for the G-spot).

Pyrex is the same stuff they make laboratory beakers from. They are sturdy materials and would be very hard to break as a sex toy.

I ADORE my acrylic toy (similar feel to glass, not quite as awesome) and have used glass toys before, too.
Why would you want to use one? Because they’re FREAKING. AMAZING.
I like a very firm texture, and something that won’t snag. Many dildos feel too spongy to me, and require so much lube, which just ends up drying out and getting gummy and uncomfortable.
Glass is hard enough to push all the right buttons, slick enough to glide in and out with ease, and i even find that my lube lasts a lot longer with a glass dildo, probably because it’s material is totally nonporous (very healthy for you and your va-jay jay, bee tee dubs.) They can usually be boiled also, for increased cleanliness.
Besides which, rather than an appalling flesh-toned rubber fashion accident, glass dildos come in all the pretty candy flavours of the rainbow, and can even get quite creative, with double dongs, double-penetrators, even a “Juicer” model that rotates against the G-spot AND provides clitoral stimulation.
Potential Downfalls:
1) The hardness is not for everybody. Some ladies like a more delicate touch (which just bores and irritates me)
2) They are cold (Again, I like that, but many people don’t. They can be heated up, as they mentioned above, but that’s kind of a pain in the ass.)
3) They’re quite expensive. Since they’re individually hand-crafted pieces of art and must be flawless in order to be safe and comfortable, they’re usually a pretty significant investment.
That being said, I can’t wait to save up my pennies and get one of my very own. ^_^
