I know that there are many folks (including almost every Babeland staff member) who will be Hitachi Magic Wand fans to the bitter end. For me though, the Hitachi has always been way too powerful. I like the idea of it, but it overwhelms me. That’s why when I discovered that there was a smaller, less powerful version of the Hitachi called the Mystic Wand, I had to buy it.

The Mystic Wand takes four AA batteries so the motor packs quite a punch. Only occasionally do I take it off its lowest setting, it’s that powerful. The controls are very easy to use and the handle feels great while I’m holding it.

The best part of the Mystic Wand isn’t actually its power, it’s the little ridges on the head. Most vibrators are smooth as a baby’s bottom, which is great, but for awhile now I’d been wishing that there was something with a little more texture to create that extra sensation on the clitoris. When I saw the Mystic Wand I knew that as long as I liked the vibrations, that little toy would be mine.

It turns out that the extra friction caused by those ridges is perfection itself. It’s part of the reason why I don’t need to increase the vibration – the ridges amp up the stimulation in the most amazing way.

I highly recommend the Mystic Wand for anyone who likes powerful vibration but can’t quite handle the Hitachi. Or, if you’ve been wanting a little more friction in your vibrator, this one’s for you. I love you, Mystic Wand!

If you’ve been following our series on the prostate, you know that this issue is all about beginning stimulation so let’s get right to it! (Remember your lube!)

Step 1: Love up the outside. There are tons of nerve endings around the anus just waiting to be stimulated. Use your finger or a vibrator to stroke lightly, making small circles or giving gentle pats. You can also press inward just a bit, but don’t actually go inside the ass yet, just let the ass get used to the pressure.

Step 2: Take the plunge. When he’s ready for a finger, place the pad of your finger against the anus and after rubbing for a few seconds, gently push the pad of your finger inside – just to the first knuckle. Ask him how he’s feeling and let him tell you when he’s ready for more.

Step 3: Baby steps. As he’s ready, gently insert your finger, bit by bit. Don’t go too fast and don’t move around too much – every sensation is magnified so even your finger will feel like a lot!

Step 4: Find the prostate. When you’re about 1-2 inches in, curl your finger just a bit toward the front of his body. You should feel a bumpier patch that is about the size of an almost – you’re feeling the prostate through the wall of the rectum. Slide your finger back and forth over it or make small circles and see how he responds.

Step 5: Don’t forget about the rest of his body. While you’re doing all of these, there are a lot of other pleasurable things you can do to him. Not only will these things feel great, but they’ll help to relax him and help his ass to learn that internal stimulation and pleasure go hand in hand.
