10 Men’s Sex Toys That You Shouldn’t Be Afraid Of

Friday, July 30th, 2010

Even though Babeland is a safe, open and positive environment to shop for sex toys in, I always overhear the occasional “That looks scary!” comment in the boy toys section from time to time. Even our friends over at the The Frisky penned a top ten list of the “scariest sex toys for men.” I felt compelled to show your our top 10 list of toys that may look a little funny but can be really fun if you’re up for some exploration!

Tenga Egg

Tenga Egg

This could very well be the #1 “What is this for?” toy at Babeland. The Tenga Egg a very thin and stretchy masturbation sleeve that has a smooth and a textured side. This also really works well over the top of a toy like the Mystic Wand to add some texture for a different sensation. It comes in an egg shape container which makes it super cute.

Fleshlight vulva

Fleshlight

“I stick my ______ in there?!” Yes! The Fleshlight is a hugely popular toy but it totally makes sense how the size and bulk of the toy can be intimidating. The benefits of having the Fleshlight are: realistic looking orifice of your choice, ability to increase and decrease suction and the flesh-like material feels very real. The Fleshlight is easily stored in its flashlight case and can also be propped between two pillows for some hands-free penetration.

Red Umbrella Diaries, August 5

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

If you’re in NYC on August 5th, you won’t want to miss this awesome event. The Red Umbrella Diaries is a project started by the amazing Audacia Ray to create spaces for sex workers to tell their stories. As Audacia says on the Red Umbrella website:

The Red Umbrella Project is founded on the belief that storytelling is a building block of movement building and solidarity. People who have spent time in the sex industries know all too well the social and legal stigmas that prevent us from being treated with the dignity and respect we deserve. While researchers, the media, and myriad others fill up page after page with stories about the sex business, the voices of sex workers are consistently denied and erased.

Everyone has a story, and the people who are best equipped to tell the stories of people in the sex trade are the people who have personal experiences in the industry.

Here are the details for the next reading (every first Thursday of the month)

Date: August 05, 2010 08:00PM
