I’m thrilled to tell you that because of your generosity, we were able to donate $6,000 to Young Survival Coalition during our 2010 Pink October promotion.  This great organization supports breast cancer survivors under 40, and as a young cancer survivor myself, I can’t even tell you how proud I am that Babeland and YSC formed this partnership.  In the end, not only did young breast cancer survivors benefit, but so did you — after all, the donation was made from a percentage of sex toy purchases.  So if you bought one of our Pink October toys, I hope you’re enjoying it now!  Thanks, everyone — not only are you making a difference in your sex lives, but you’re making a difference for under-resourced people everywhere with our Come for a Cause program.

Inspired by this question on our Facebook Fan Page about the safety of glass toys and concerns with the possibility of lead in the glass, I decided to do some digging into how safe our glass toys are and how you can tell that the toys you are buying are good for you. I enlisted my trusty friends Destin, who is in Customer Service, and Phoebe, who is our Buyer, to see if we could find out more. Here is a brief overview of what we have learned. There are multiple reasons to come for a cause this week. Today is National Philanthropy Day and this week is National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. This holiday season, we’re offering Babeland customers a way to get involved in helping others for the season while shopping for their favorite Babeland toys. Buy a Babeland Orgasm in a Box (Hers or His), the popular kits that contain all the toys any lucky recipient needs to get off, and we’ll donate $2 to Seattle’s Urban Rest Stop, providing free restrooms, showers and laundry facilities to homeless men, women and children, and New York City’s Food Bank, one of the country’s largest food banks, distributing food to over 1.5 million people every year. Last year, through the Come for a Cause program, we were able to contribute nearly $90,000 to over 300 organizations. I can’t wait to see the results for 2010! Happy Holidays!
