This morning, sex educator and feminist pornographer (as well as former Babelander) Tristan Taormino posted a press release on her website, which stated that Oregon State University’s offer for her to give the keynote speech at their Modern Sex Conference on February 14th had been rescinded, due to the University’s concerns regarding the content of her resume and website (despite OSU having originally approached Tristan). Since Tristan’s contract with OSU was still pending at the time of cancellation, she was told she would not be reimbursed for her airfare, which had already been booked. Tristan is the author of 7 books on sex and relationships, editor of 18 anthologies, and an award-winning adult film director (known for her sex ed films) for Vivid Entertainment. Prior to this proposed lecture, she had given more than 75 lectures at top colleges and universities, including Yale, Princeton, Cornell, Brown, NYU and Columbia.
