On Saturday, March 22nd 2008, The Pornography of the Bicycle will be playing for one night only at Chashama in New York City. The 90-minute program will consist of 28 short films from a variety of artists across the west coast on the theme of “bike porn.” The movies range from the contemplative to the inventive, to the [ahem] fully demonstrative.

The various artists, some operating under pseudonyms, take us though a range of videos — most of which are not available anywhere else. No DVDs of the work are available for sale; barely any works are on the Internet. This is your only chance to see The Pornography of the Bicycle in New York City.

Please be advised of adult content: 18 and over only, please.

Audience members are encouraged to come in costume, and to dress their bicycles in costume. Each of the evening’s three screenings will be proceeded by an interactive contest, where prizes will be awarded for Best Dressed (or undressed) Person, Best Dressed Bicycle, and Best Fake (or real) Orgasm. Prizes will be provided by Toys in Babeland, Continuum Cycles, and Laek House Clothing.

The curator of the program, Reverend Phil, will also be on-hand to discuss the philosophy and nature of bike porn in more intimate detail.

“Pornography is difficult thing to define,” says bicycle pornographer, Reverend Phil. “Often we use a community standard to decide what is obscene as opposed to just erotic. People often say, ‘I know pornography when I see it.’ I feel pornography is the visceral reaction we get from something that is so graphic that we must turn away, or is so graphic that we cannot turn away.”

The Pornography of the Bicycle was shown in June as part of Portland’s Underground Film Festival (PUFF). Only half of the 500 people who showed up were able to get into the Clinton Street Theater. Since then The Pornography of the Bicycle has received rave reviews selling out shows in San Francisco, Seattle, Bellingham and Vancouver, B.C. The Bike Porn Eastern Swing will stop in these cities:

It’s been quite awhile since I professed my love for Belladonna on this blog. If you’ve been reading at all for the past couple of years, you’ll know that she’s one of my favorites. I also really liked Pirates - the porn take-off on Pirates of the Caribbean. It was a bit cheesy but that’s why I liked it - it was funny and fun to watch. And the scene at the end between Jesse Jane and Janine was awesome. So, how much better could it get? Well, there could be a scene between Jesse Jane and Belladonna with Belladonna dressed as a pirate!! Awesome. Now I just need to see Belladonna and Janine together and I can die happy. I promise will carry this film at Babeland when it comes out.

Belladonna Joins Digital Playground’s Jesse Jane® and an All-Star Cast
for “Pirates II”

March 6, 2008 — VAN NUYS, Calif. — In an exciting announcement,

I love good erotica and Rachel Kramer Bussel is editing some anthologies of the best stuff out there. What I like best about her collections is that they aren’t just “women’s” erotica - they’re topical. For instance, I never would have though of making erotica involving religion but it’s a very interesting idea. It pushes writers outside of what they might normally write about and creates some very interesting stories. She’s also looking for “mile high” erotica so if you’ve always had that ultimate plane fantasy in your head, write it down! Also, check out Rachel’s blog - it’s fantastic.

This can be interpreted widely, whether sex that brings you closer to a given deity, following or disobeying religious rules around sex, sex between clergy or between clergy and laypeople, combining sex and prayer, etc. Please use your imagination; creativity will be rewarded. The emphasis of this book is not on sacrilegious stories, but on displaying as wide array as possible of erotica that encompasses various religious viewpoints and practices. I’m looking for stories from across the religious spectrum; stories can be humorous, serious, realistic, etc. Stories featuring all genders/sexual orientations are welcome. Please note that the more unique your story, the better its chances (hence, hold off on the generic screwing in a church tale unless you have a new angle on it). To get a feel for the kinds of stories I like, please read any of my previous Cleis Press anthologies. Original stories are highly preferred, but a limited number of reprints will be considered.
